I have one wood floor installer who insists on using quarter round plus the baseboard for my floor installation whereas my contractor and another floor installer say it s not necessary.
Do you use quarter round with carpet.

Can you eliminate them all together usually there is no need for quarter round with carpet.
Unfortunately i do need quarter rounds some areas of the walls are pulling away from the floor too drastically for the carpet to cover and the layers of paint build up are very noticeable without them.
Do you always need quarter round when you are having a wood floor installed if a baseboard is being installed.
Quarter round is used 95 in most flooring installations except carpeting for a nice clean and finished look.
Fastening quarter round into the base board and the floating floor â â â â â another mistake is nailing or gluing the quarter round onto the floating floor.
I take it off.
You get a lot better look and carpet is eaiser to install.
If the mark from the quarter round shows i leave it up to the home owner if they want me to reinstall it.
Some put the base molding down first then carpet others put the carpet down then base molding and sometimes base shoe but i find it a bit unsightly.
Quarter round is inappropriate base shoe is the proper stuff but not with carpet.
