In this video i will be showing you a very simple way on how to remove decals from your car window.
Do vinyl stickers come off car windows.
Fun fact vinyl decals actually protect the paint underneath.
Vinyl car decals or vinyl wrap material are made with an adhesive that is semi permanent.
Which means that if done properly it will remove without taking off any of the clear coat or paint layer underneath it.
Have a paper towel on hand if the sticker is on the inside of your car because it will drip.
Follow these steps to get the sticker off with wd 40.
If you use an indoor vinyl you will only need to warm it up with a hair dryer to remove.
You can also just get cling vinyl for glass with no sticky and printable vinyl.
To remove vinyl decals from a car window heat up the decal with a hairdryer or heat gun until the edges fray which will make it easier to remove.
To do this hold the blade parallel to your window so you don t scratch the glass and slowly slide the blade under one corner.
I was able to peel this vinyl.
This won t come off in a sheet just use the card or plastic razor blade to remove it.
Prepare the sticker for application by firmly rubbing the felt edge of the squeegee or something with a thin edge like a credit card against the decal pressing the transfer tape against the vinyl.
This removes any air bubbles that may have formed in transit and allows the sticker to cling to the transfer tape.
Then use a credit card or library card to carefully scrape off the decal.
Step 1 spray the sticker with wd 40 so that the sticker gets totally wet.
This product is great for this purpose as it is clear coat safe.
Older cheaper vinyl can be dry and crumbly and even show cracking.
Once all of the vinyl is removed i sprayed the entire surface with stoners tarminator.
Step 2 use a plastic scraper or credit card to scrape the sticker off.
If any sticky remains use some tea tree oil orange oil eucalyptus oil etc.
This can also be applies to other materials besides glass.
