I did not get them and have been getting along just fine for six years without them. There are two main benefits to using a laundry pedestal. I figured dryers have been front loading all my life and i never had a pedestal for my dryer. We are building a house and need to decide before the sheetrock goes up whether or not to have pedestals for our front load washer and dryer so they can be flush against the wall.

You do not need a pedastal. Why do i suddenly need pedestals now that my washing machine is a front loader. Your washer can sit right on the floor however if you had a pedestal you can store items in it and it makes washing and drying a lot easlier by not having to bend over. Pedestals in my opinion are just marketing genius.

First it raises your appliance off the floor by 12 16 inches making it easier to reach inside the wash bin. Bending over is good for me.
